Casey A. Potts

Engineering Manager

Casey Potts is the Manager of the Engineering group at AbsolutAire. In this role, Casey oversees the mechanical engineering functions at the company. He and his staff are primarily responsible for custom systems and unit design, project management, and review/oversight of customer orders released for production.

Casey joined AbsolutAire in 2012, taking a mechanical design position in the company’s engineering group. He had previously been employed at Eliason Corporation, a manufacturer of traffic doors, located in Portage, Michigan. In 2015, Casey assumed his current supervisory role.

Casey has attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College (KVCC), earning an Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design (CAD) in 2007.

Bryan A. Devan

Design Engineer

Bryan Devan is a Design Engineer at AbsolutAire.  His primary responsibilities include producing accurate and comprehensive mechanical prints for the assembly floor.  Bryan works closely with AbsolutAire engineering and sales staff, as well as and shop floor assemblers and builders.   

Bryan joined AbsolutAire in 2014 after working for Illuminated Image in Angola, IN as their lead designer, and Pulver Dryer USA, LLC in Springfield, MI as a Machine Designer.  Bryan studied Design Engineering Technologies at Trine University in Angola, IN.  While there, Bryan was a member of Trine University’s MIAA league championship football teams in 2008 and 2009.

Deborah McDonald

Mechanical Engineer

Deborah McDonald is a Mechanical Engineer at AbsolutAire.  As a member of the Engineering group, she works closely with the Sales group, providing as-built and for-approval drawings upon request.  Deborah is charged with preparing record drawings, bills of material, and production prints for the AbsolutAire light commercial and food service product line (V and M-Series).  She also assists in parts design and CNC Plasma & Laser release for unit fabrication.

Deborah joined AbsolutAire in December 2013.  Prior to joining the company, she deployed with the Seabees of the US Navy Reserves as a builder/carpenter.  Deborah has been a service member since 2007, and she has advanced quickly through the ranks.  Upon her return from deployment, she enrolled at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where she is finishing up her Associates in Computer Aided Design.

Kris R. Witteveen

Manager, Electrical & DDC Eng.

Kris has worked in a variety of roles since joining AbsolutAire in 2005.  Currently he manages Electrical Controls and DDC Engineering. He also helps out as a Sales and Application Engineer and with the Customer Service Department. He is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the electrical engineering group, quoting many of the custom units across all product lines, product development and providing engineering support to the customer service group. Kris really enjoys working on the more complex units such as energy recovery or humidity control units that set AbsolutAire apart from many of our competitors.

Prior to joining Absolutaire in 2005, Kris had more than 20 years of industrial design and engineering experience. As a high school student, he began his career preparing submittal drawings for Espec Corporation in Hudsonville, MI. After college, he became involved in the designing of Espec’s world-leading environmental test chambers and had added responsibilities in CNC machine programming. Prior to accepting his current role at AbsolutAire, Kris also designed industrial fluid chillers at Koolant Koolers Inc. in Kalamazoo, and was a project manager and salesman at American Metal Fab Inc. in Three Rivers, MI.

In 1989, Kris earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a certificate for Drafting and Design Technology from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. During his business career, Kris continued his education with courses and training in universal refrigeration, team leadership, and value stream mapping.

Mark Callahan

Electrical Engineer

Mark Callahan is an Electrical Controls Engineer at AbsolutAire.  In this role, he is responsible for generating electrical control systems documentation for the company’s commercial and industrial direct-fired product lines.  Key activities include unit build package review, electrical control system development, schematics generation for analog, direct digital control (DDC), and programmable logic controllers (PLC), PLC software support, electrical materials documentation, new concepts and controls innovations, factory startup support, and field startup support.

Mark began his AbsolutAire career in 2013, following three years as a green-field startup technician.  He spent five years as a Building Automation Systems construction and installation field manager, and 25 years as an Automated Control Systems Design Engineer for various architectural & engineering firms, with extensive knowledge in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Mark earned an Associates in Applied Sciences from Michigan Technological University in 1980.  Prior education includes three years as an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) apprentice.

Bruce E. Owen

Bruce E. Owen

Electrical Engineering

Bruce Owen is an Electrical Engineer at AbsolutAire. In this role, Bruce has a range of responsibilities including product electrical systems design, project technical support, and electrical research and development.

Bruce began his HVAC career in 1978 with Rapid Engineering in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He held various positions in manufacturing and engineering during 12 years with the company. In 1990, Bruce left the company to become a realtor with Westdale Better Homes & Gardens in the Grand Rapids area. He then joined AbsolutAire shortly after its start-up in 1992 and, for a number of years, managed electrical assembly before assuming his current position of Electrical Engineer.

Bruce has taken selected classes in Electrical Systems Design at Grand Rapids Junior College. During his time with AbsolutAire, he has also participated in various specialized training opportunities provided by HVAC component suppliers, including Maxon Burners, Honeywell Burner Controls, and Lincoln Motors.


Kevin J. Ingersoll

Product Development Engineer

Kevin Ingersoll is the Product Development Engineer at AbsolutAire. In this role, he is responsible for all third-party testing and listing of AbsolutAire equipment, product improvement, and equipment development. This requires Kevin to work closely with various AbsolutAire manufacturing departments during equipment construction and testing phases. Kevin is also a member of the sales department, providing quotations and technical support to outside AbsolutAire manufacturing representatives.

Kevin joined AbsolutAire in 2015, following more than 35 years in the HVAC and Green Energy markets. Most notably, he worked for 26 years at Rapid Engineering, fulfilling several positions, the last of which was Product Manager. He has also held positions with Heat Transfer International as Purchasing and Project Manager, specializing in biomass power generation equipment and high temperature ceramic heat exchangers. Kevin held this same position for Fisen Corporation, a manufacturer of custom HVAC equipment for Johnson Controls, in Dutton, MI.
